Overview

What to Do During an Alert

The situation in the Middle East after the beginning of the attacks remains extremely critical. We have observed several attacks involving drones, rockets, and missile systems along the Gulf coast. These weapon systems pose significant risks, including potential airspace closures or debris hazards. Furthermore, we must expect a further escalation at short notice, for example by other countries joining the military action against Iran.

Airspace restrictions remain in place across parts of the Middle East, including Iran, Israel, Iraq, Jordan and parts of the Gulf. Airlines continue to reroute, suspend or cancel services, often at short notice. There is still no confirmed timeline for full reopening in several affected areas.

Health and safety of our employees have always been a top priority for Krones.
For these reasons, we have set up strict travel restrictions for the Gulf region. Unless otherwise instructed everybody in the region must remain inside the hotels or shelters in place until further notice.

When warning sirens sound

If you are inside a building:

  • Go immediately to a shelter or bunker or an underground parking if one is available.

  • If no shelter is available, move to the stairwell.

  • 3-story building: Go to the 2nd floor (the most stable part of the building).

  • Buildings with more than 3 floors: Do not stay on the ground floor or the top two floors.

  • Beware of shrapnel: Never stay in the entrance area of a building.

If you are outdoors:

  • Enter the nearest building for protection.

  • If no building is nearby, lie flat on the ground and cover your head with your hands.

If you are in a vehicle:

  • Pull over to the side of the road and stop.

  • Leave the vehicle and go to the nearest building or shelter.

  • If this is not possible, lie flat on the ground and cover your head with your hands.

  • If you cannot exit the vehicle, stop at the roadside and remain inside.

Important:

Remain in your protected location for at least 10 minutes after the alarm has ended.

Do not touch any ammunition, unexploded parts of weapon systems, or anything that may be part of an undetonated weapon system - especially after an alert.

Do not approach these items and do not take pictures. Maintain a safe distance of at least 1,000 meters.
